- Jan 11, 2007 Play GBA games (badly) on the Wii. A sleek-looking accessory that plugs into the GameCube/Wii memory card slot and lets you play Game Boy Advance games on the big screen. What Wii News doesn't.

The Nintendo Wii does not allow you to play copies of Wii games unless you have modified the operating system first, either through software or the inclusion of a computer chip. You can play a copy of a Wii game that has been converted into a file in the ISO-format on a modified Wii, once you have downloaded free Wii ISO modification programs on a computer and have added them to the Wii. You can then put the ISO file onto a memory card. The Wii will read the ISO file from the memory card once you have inserted it into the Wii and treat it as if it were the original game disc.
Modifications Made On A Computer
Download a Wii ISO cover modification program, for example, the WiiCoverfloater program; a Wii ISO media program, for example, the Wii ISO MediaFire program; and a Wii ISO media managing program, for example, the Wii ISO Media Manager (see the links in Resources).

Tips
A Wii that is modded through software, not a computer chip, can be restored to its original state without having to open it up.
Warnings
Inexpensive memory cards are made of inferior materials and can fail to work properly when inserted into the Wii. Modifying a Wii voids the Nintendo warranty.
